What We Offer

Discover the mindful pleasure of the feel of clay and of making vessels or simple decorative ceramic pieces. If you are undecided whether to try wheel throwing or hand building, here is a potter's tip: Hand building pottery is actually more enjoyable, relaxing and creative than wheel-throwing, and you are more likely to make something larger, really beautiful and useful. Price quoted is per person per two hours. You will learn about: - Planning what you want to make - Building ceramic forms, learning the beautiful hand-building skills such as coiling, pinching, slab forming, slip-casting or using moulds - Decorating surfaces - Glazing with underglazes Suitable for adults with all levels of skill, from beginners to advanced. Please bring: Ideas, protective clothing (an apron and towel), drawings and/or photos. Included: Unlimited clay, use of studio tools, glazes and firing of up to three pieces. Extras: If you make more than three pieces, we can glaze and fire them at an extra cost, which we will discuss with you.
